







On May 3, 2024, the University of Innsbruck hosted the “Resilient Urban In[ter]ventions” design studio review, an event within the Alpinestudio Program—a collaboration between the global campuses of the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Innsbruck. This interdisciplinary gathering, attended by a jury and 50 students and guests, emphasized the crucial role of architecture in developing climate-fit concepts for Innsbruck’s Marktviertel.
Led by Dr. Oswald Jenewein, the studio featured co-instructors Yannick Back, Vasileios Chanis, and Daniel Klausner, who guided students in developing tangible solutions closely aligned with the unique challenges and opportunities of Innsbruck’s Marktviertel. Additionally, guest reviewer Pia Sarpaneva provided valuable insights into the innovative proposals presented.
The event showcased creative solutions that underscored the intersection of natural and built environments in shaping resilient urban futures. This collaborative effort not only celebrated inventive ideas but also highlighted architecture’s pivotal role in shaping sustainable cities, fostering dialogue and action in response to the specific climate challenges of the Marktviertel.
