“Interlining” Partnership Celebration in Dallas

A milestone celebration unfolded at ADEX – Architecture and Design Exchange in Dallas, as AIA Dallas hosted the “Interlining” event, commemorating the remarkable 35-year partnership between the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Innsbruck. Dr. Oswald Jenewein, Program Director and a pivotal figure in steering the partnership, delivered a captivating presentation to approximately 50 guests, including students, alumni, and faculty.

Initiated in 1989, this academic collaboration has fostered a cross-cultural exchange, allowing students from both institutions to immerse themselves in diverse academic environments. Dr. Jenewein’s presentation highlighted the transformative impact of the program, weaving a rich tapestry of cultural exchange and creating a global network of alumni making significant contributions to the field of design.

Crucially, the program’s success and longevity were partly made possible through the support of the Austrian-American Partnership Fund of the U.S. Embassy in Vienna.

The celebration was not just a reflection on the past but an exploration of the future. Dr. Jenewein outlined the program’s vision, emphasizing the need for continued innovation and collaboration in the ever-evolving landscape of architecture and design.

“Interlining” emerged as a testament to the power of international collaboration in shaping the future of architecture. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to fostering academic excellence, cultural understanding, and global connectivity through initiatives like the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Innsbruck partnership.
